Biography

Liu Hongwei, MD, Postdoctoral Fellow, Chief Physician, Doctoral Supervisor, Academic Leader (PI) of the Key Laboratory of Regenerative Medicine, Ministry of Education, and Director of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University. He currently serves as a Member of the Laser Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, a Member of the Tissue Repair Committee of the Traumatology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Vice Chair of the Laser Medicine Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, and a Standing Committee Member of the Medical Aesthetics Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association. He is an invited reviewer for the British Journal of Dermatology and FEBS Letters, and an Editorial Board Member of the Chinese Journal of Medical Aesthetics. 

From 1989 to 1999, he served as a physician, teaching assistant, master's student, attending physician, and lecturer in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Tangdu Hospital, Air Force Medical University of the PLA,
From 2000 to 2004, he was a visiting researcher and doctoral student in the Second Department of Surgery, School of Medicine, Ehime University, Japan,
From 2004 to 2006, he was a postdoctoral fellow in plastic surgery at the Postdoctoral Workstation of the Southern Theater Command General Hospital, Southern Medical University Postdoctoral Mobile Station,
Since 2007, he has served as Director and Chief Physician of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University.
Since 2009, he has served as Academic Leader of the Key Laboratory of Regenerative Medicine, Ministry of Education,
In July 2010, he was appointed as a doctoral supervisor for the clinical professional degree in plastic surgery at Jinan University. 

His main research directions are tissue injury repair and regeneration. He has presided over one subproject of the 05 Research Group of the Trauma Project under the National Key Basic Research Development Program and four General Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published more than 60 papers in domestic and international professional journals, including 18 articles in SCI-indexed journals such as British Journal of Dermatology, Journal of Dermatology Science., Life Sciences, Hypertension, and Circulation, and has contributed to the compilation of 4 monographs. In 2008, as an important member of Academician Fu Xiaobing's team, he received a Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.
